Organization - Be smart and keep safe for the kids
Submitted By Shannon Gardiner on Sunday, October 4, 2020
As we’ve seen in the last week COVID does not discriminate in who it affects and large associations are not immune to sudden closure. Whether you agree with the measures put in place or not, we ask for your patience and cooperation as we navigate this season with the goal to protect our community and players.

Our asks

  • We are very pleased with the success of our first week, and we thank you for your patience and understanding. It is likely that some safety guidelines will continue to evolve and our coaches, conveners and board members will be sure to keep you informed.
  • We understand life is busy, but we ask that you make all efforts to ensure your players are ready to enter the arena 20 minutes in advance of their scheduled time as arriving late causes delays for players and coaches. If the team has already entered the arena for the scheduled ice time, the player will unfortunately not be granted entry to join their team. We must take these measures to ensure all those in the facility have completed the COVID assessment and can be traced in compliance with municipal standards.
  • Please adhere to all COVID safety measures put in place by the association and government bodies. Arguing with volunteers from Bradford Minor Hockey or staff from the leisure center pertaining to these rules does not help the situation. Questions and suggestions are always welcome, verbal abuse will not be tolerated.
  • Please use the utmost due diligence and caution to protect others. If you or your child are concerned you may have COVID, or are even showing signs of the virus please stay home. Missing hockey for a weekend is better than missing for multiple weeks and potentially spreading the virus to others.

It is likely our actions as adults that will ultimately determine the success or failure for this hockey season and keeping our players safe will continue to be our priority moving forward. We thank you for your patience and understanding.
