Organization - Return to Play Update
Submitted By Shannon Gardiner on Friday, July 31, 2020
Puck drop will happen again, and BWGMHA will be ready.

This is a period of cautious revival, and while we encourage optimism, we also ask for your patience as we prepare for more uncertainty in the weeks, months, and year ahead. Our plan must allow flexibility so that adjustments can be made quickly and efficiently as we move forward through this new environment where outbreaks of COVID 19 can occur. BWGMHA Return to Hockey plans are tentative in nature and all aspects are subject to change.

Our mission statement as we prepare for the season ahead; To create beneficial hockey programming that is fun and challenging for our members as we continue to live through COVID19 while ensuring the safe return to sport for our players, volunteers and community by creating a plan that outlines programming, timing and adequate safety measures.

We have designed a series of phases that will begin with skill based athletic development and will advance towards hockey as we know it. The progress from one phase to another, either forward or back, will largely be determined by the OMHA, OHF, provincial and municipal governments and local public health authorities.

Programming is tentatively scheduled to return in early October and where registration volumes allow we will offer divisions with both recreational (house league) and competitive play as options for our athletes.
