BWGMHA Updated Statement
Submitted By Shannon Gardiner on Friday, March 13, 2020
Dear BWGMHA Families,

BWGMHA is a sanctioned member of OMHA and will adhere to OMHA policy. The OMHA has made the decision to immediately suspend all hockey activities. This means, effective as of March 13, 2020 all BWGMHA activities are suspended until further notice.

This includes:

  • Any remaining games and practices for all teams
  • All tournament participation
  • End of season banquets
  • The pro-shop located at the BWG Leisure centre will be closed
  • The Bradford Bulldogs Blue & Gold Classic Hockey Tournament scheduled for March 20-22 will be cancelled

Year End Activities

Coaches will be contacted by our Association Administrator, Shannon Gardiner, with instruction on how and where to pick up year-end trophies, etc. for each team.  We will also provide recommendations on how to distribute these in a safe way.

New Date: Annual General Meeting – TBD

The Town of Bradford West Gwillimbury has closed the facilities until at least April 30th - our AGM date will be announced once the facilities re-open.

Financial Impact

We are analyzing the financial impact on our Association due to the sudden suspension of the 2019/2020 hockey season. Our Association does not have all of the information yet from its various partners as to whether we will be reimbursed for some of our costs, such as ice. The Executive will assess the situation and post updates on the website

BWGMHA is committed to being proactive in informing our members on any additional actions as they become available.

Our priority is securing the safety of all players, coaches, volunteers and their families.

Thank you for your patience during this unprecedented time.

Many thanks for your continued support.
