Minor Bantams win gold in Pittsburgh

The Bradford Minor Bantam A  team travelled  this past weekend to Pittsburgh for the Thanksgiving Classic tournament

Game 1 – Bradford Everest Supply 6 – Pittsburgh Artic Foxes 1 – Goals by Ryan Macdonal (2) Jake Lush (2) and Clark Carruthers and Riley Outopoulous.  Assists to Carruthers (2) , Nicholas Cordone (3), Ivan Stefanov, Dylan Rocha and Nicholas Brundige. Winning goalie Jaymin Murdock.

 

Game 2 – Bradford Edge Performance 2 , Peterborough Petes – 4  After dominating the first 2 ½ periods the Petes scored 3 late goals to win this tight game.  Goals by Jacob Lush and Dylan Rocha.  Assists to Clark Carruthers and Ryan Macdonald.

 

Game 3 – Bradford Steyns Garden Centre 2 – Hampton Whalers  2 – Needing a win or a tie to advance to the Championship, Ryan Macdonald score with 8.8 seconds left to tie the game.  Other goal to Connor Staring.  Assists to Staring and Jacob Lush.

 

Championship Game- Bradford Everest Supply 2 Peterborough Petes 1 – Outstanding Game that went to Overtime.  Peterborough led with a goal in the second period, but the Bulldogs continued to push ahead. Only 5 minutes left in the game and Keegan Steyn made a rush up the ice to feed Jacob Lush for the tying goal.  Bradford dominated the last 5 minutes of the game with the great defensive play of Malcolm Gill, Ryan Taylor, Brenden Giasson and Daniel Crosby. In overtime Ryan Macdonald scored the winner with an assist to Dylan Rocha for the game winning goal. Winning goalie was Big Thunder Noah Davidson.

 

A great weekend had by all, Thanks to the staff, Geoffrey Dossey, Joseph Nanowksi, Chris Harris and all the parents for their support.  Special thanks to Super Fan Eric for his support.
