Minor Midgets defend there Championship for third straight year

 

The 99’s Minor Midgets defended their Blue and gold BWGMHA Tournament win this past weekend in fine fashion.

 

Game 1
Bradford 3 Caledon 3
The team started slowly but eeked out a tie in the dying seconds.  With just 16 seconds left and the goalie out the team scored 2 goals to come back and tie the Caledon Hawks 3 to 3.

Goals by Xavier Drummond from Cole Camenzuli and Vandi Chit,Joe Heath from Drummond  and with .9 seconds left unassisted a spectacular goal by Vandi Chit.

 

Game 2

Bradford 6  Huntsville Otters 1

Scoring by Chris Jansen from Joe Heath and Xavier Drummond, Joe Heath from Jansen, Drummond unassisted, Derian Carter from Spencer Ripley and Cole Camenzuli, Isaac Moniz from Brett Young and Curtis Dubeau from Camenzuli and Carter.

 

Game 3

Bradford 8 Cobourg 4

In an early seesaw battle against their arch rivals, Bradford dominated the third and came out on top.

Scoring, Cole Camenzuli with 4 goals, Xavier Drummond with a pair, and singles to Curtis dubeau and Brett Young.

Assists to Derian Carter and Dubeau with a pair each, singles to Young, Mathew Ventura, Vandi Chit, Ryan Lomas, Joe Heath, and Isaac Moniz

 

Game 4

Bradford 5 Toronto East Enders 0

Goals to Derian Carter with the Hat trick, Xavier Drummond and Chris Jansen with singles.  Assists to Camenzuli with three, Heath with two, and Vandi Chit and Brendan Weir with singles.  Shut out to Nicholas Ingoglia

 

Game 5

Semi Finals

Bradford 9 and Caledon Hawks 1

In a rematch of game one, Bulldogs took game and made a statement.

Spencer Ripley with a hat trick, Camenzuli with a pair, Carter,   Drummond, Young, and Moniz with singles.  Assists to Mathew Ventura with three , Carter with three, Dubeau,  Jerrad Smith,Drummond and Heath all with singles.

 

Game 6  for the Gold Medal

Bradford 5  Cobourg 0

In a near perfect game by the Bulldogs they came out firing on all cylinders and shut down a  very strong Cobourg team.

Scoring was opened up early in the first period Carter from Camenzuli.  In the second halfway through Xavier Drummond got the insurance marker from Joe Heath and Brendan Weir. Derian Carter again from Camenzuli began to seal the fate early in the third period.  Carter with the hat trick scored midway through the third to make it 4 to 0 assists from Vandi Chit and Cole Camenzuli.  To round out the scoring and lock up the gold Chris Jansen from Joe Heath made it 5 to 0.  Stellar goal tending effort from Noah Duva.

 

The team is off to Nashville in October and in November has been invited to the elite 8 tourney in Windsor, a clash of some of Ontario’s top teams.
