Minor Peewee A - 2012 York Simcoe Champions!
(April 1, 2012)
Over this past weekend the Bradford Minor Peewee A team found themselves in the most challenging playoff series yet this season against the Newmarket Redmen. The entire series was back and forth with both teams capturing wins in their home buildings until game 5 when both teams played to a 1-1 tie even after completing a ten minute overtime period. This was an exciting game and the fans who came out to support this team are to be commended as the new Leisure Complex was loud and the game exciting. Following this tie both teams were deadlocked at 5 points each and Bradford was forced to travel back to Newmarket to play game 6. This game was back and forth with both teams playing very cautious ensuring that they did not give up any good scoring opportunities. The game was tied 0-0 at the end of one. In the second both teams had opportunities however, were unable to capitalize and as the buzzer sounded to end the second the game was still tied 0-0. During the third period Bradford had the majority of the opportunities however, it was not until under 6 minutes remaining in the game when Victor Pearson made an end to end rush and after having his first shot blocked he was able to gather up the puck and unload a rocket in the top right corner to give Bradford a 1-0 lead. Bradford proceeded to shut down Newmarket and keep the puck deep in their zone reducing Newmarkets ability to score while goalie Ryan Sadler was solid in the pipes stopping all 13 of Newmarkets shots and capturing the shut-out while Bradford went on to win 1-0 and capture their second York Simcoe Championship title in as many years. Congratulations to all the players, parents and coaching staff on an outstanding year and great accomplishment, and kudos to the Newmarket team who made this series one of the best to watch.

Atom LL Win Consolation Championship
(March 28, 2012)
Bradford Local League Atom 1 sponsored by Scotia Bank and Lomonte and Collings wins Simcoe region Consolation Championship. After losing the first round of the playoffs Bradford Atom 1 never looked back, having an impressive record of 10-3-1 over the next three rounds to finish off the playoffs by winning the consolation championship. Each series presented a different challenge for our players and they faced each one with a winning attitude and always giving 100% every shift. The coaching staff and parents are very proud of the way our players developed this year, always having a “play fair - play hard” attitude and a big smile after each shift.
